The first time Lauren and I spoke on the phone about potentially booking me to photograph their wedding day, I knew that it was simply going to be an *iconic* day to say the least. She told me about their incredibly unique venue in the middle of nowhere South Carolina- not a wedding venue at all, but a camp ground with an entire old western movie set recreation on it that the owner built just for fun + she told me about their non-traditional attire- she was designing her own pink wedding dress and Andy was designing his own yellow suit. I instantly knew that I had to be a part of this day, that it would be one of the most fun and memorable weddings of my career!
Fast forward to the wedding day, and the pink-pony-old-western of it all came together just as I had imagined, actually, it was even better. They handmade all of their decorations, all of the guests + bridal party brought the energy and matched the theme, everyone was seriously overjoyed and having so much fun being in a different world for the day. Everything was bedazzled, there was a donkey serving drinks, everything was pink + orange + yellow, bolo ties, theatrical musical numbers… it encompassed who Lauren & Andy are as people, and that’s the greatest thing of all.
I just can’t get over how much Lauren & Andy put their entire personalities into their wedding day and did something that would be fun FOR THEM. I see so many couples struggling with what they actually want to do vs. what they feel like they should be doing for everyone else, but all that matters is what YOU want to do! If you want a colorful, bedazzled, western styled wedding, do it! If you want to skip a wedding and elope in Yellowstone, do it! Your wedding is for you and no one else!!!
